Accessibility statement
Prepared: 15.06.2026 · Last reviewed: 19.10.2026
This English version is provided for information. The binding version is the Polish one (Deklaracja dostępności).
LimnoLog is committed to making its digital products accessible in line with WCAG 2.1 level AA. This single statement covers three products: the website limnolog.com (product pages, pricing, calculators, articles), the Polish educational website limnolog.pl (calculators, articles) and the application app.limnolog.com.
Conformance status
The websites limnolog.com and limnolog.pl are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA: in the automated scan of the sample described below we found no violations, and the known limitations are listed in section 3. The application is partially conformant as well; its known limitations are listed in section 3.
1. Formal information
- Date of the statement: 15 June 2026
- Last review: 19 October 2026. Internal audit of both websites: 56 pages (landing, product pages, pricing, articles with diagrams, all nine calculators in both services), at 360 px and 1280 px width, 154 automated runs. After the fixes the scan reports no violations. Earlier reviews of the application: July 2026 (full code review in both colour themes) and August 2026 (after a palette change).
- Method: self-assessment. Automated checks with axe-core (WCAG 2.0/2.1 A and AA rules), in-browser probes on the calculators (field names, announcing of results, focus after actions), a scan of the page sources (language, image descriptions, diagrams) and a calculation of the contrast ratio of every colour pair used by the websites. This review did not include a manual test with a screen reader or a test with disabled users.
- Basis: the Polish Act on Digital Accessibility, standard EN 301 549
2. What we meet today
Websites limnolog.com and limnolog.pl
- Contrast. Text at least 4.5:1 (large text at least 3:1), and user interface components (borders of form fields and outlined buttons) at least 3:1. Checked by calculating the ratio of every colour pair of both websites (none below the threshold) and by the axe contrast rule on the sample (no violations). The websites have one, light colour theme.
- Keyboard. A visible focus indicator on links, buttons and fields (a 12-step Tab trace on the calculator pages left no element without an indicator) and a "Skip to content" link on every page of both websites.
- Page language is declared on every page; the images have text alternatives, and the diagrams in the articles (SVG) have a title and a description.
- Calculators (all nine, both websites, all languages): every field has a name linked to the control; the result of a calculation is announced to a screen reader in a live region; an invalid entry marks the field (aria-invalid) and the message is linked to the field, so the error is not conveyed by colour alone; after "Add to list" and "Remove" the keyboard focus moves to a sensible element instead of being lost.
- Articles: tables wider than the screen are scrollable regions reachable from the keyboard and labelled with the table heading.
- Zoom and layout. We do not block zooming. On the sample, no page scrolls horizontally at 360 px width.
- Motion. The websites respect the system setting "reduce motion".
Application app.limnolog.com
- Contrast of the palette in the light and the dark theme: the ratios of the colour pairs and the completeness of the dark-theme variants are checked by two automated tests before every release.
- Automated scan (axe-core, WCAG 2.0/2.1 A and AA rules, including the contrast of rendered text) of the key application screens before every release. The known exceptions are listed in section 3.
- Tabular alternative for charts: in the advanced analysis mode an expandable table under each chart; for the time series chart, a link to the same data in the measurement table view.
3. Known limitations and work in progress
Websites
- German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese visitors see this statement in Polish with a notice; the English version is informational.
- We have not yet had the websites tested by users of screen readers.
Application
- Keyboard operation, dialogs and screen reader support in the application were last reviewed manually in July 2026 and have not been repeated in full since.
- Some rarely used administration forms have labels linked to fields only visually; we fix the programmatic link whenever those screens are changed.
- Contrast: the automated scan covers only the screens of the sample, so individual auxiliary elements elsewhere in the application (mostly semi-transparent text or text on a tinted background, and decorative or disabled elements) may still have a contrast below 4.5:1; we fix them as we find them. In the dark theme the red of icons and outlines is a conscious compromise at 3:1 or more; the high contrast mode raises all of these above the requirement.
- A full independent audit of all application paths (planned by an external body).
4. Accessibility features in the application
In the account settings, section "Accessibility", you can switch on: high contrast, larger text, reduced animations and an always visible focus indicator. By default the application follows the system preferences.
5. Feedback and contact
If you meet an accessibility barrier on any of the three products, write to dostepnosc@limnolog.com. We reply within 7 days. If the barrier cannot be removed, we will propose an alternative way to access the data. You can also report it through the form in the application (the "?" icon).
