Control access to your measurements and keep your own project copy

The people added to the project, each with the role an administrator gives them - from full administration to read-only. Someone with a LimnoLog account joins directly, anyone else through an invitation. Database rules enforce these roles row by row, so other LimnoLog users do not see your project. The exception is what an administrator chooses to publish: a public dashboard shows the selected charts, together with the project name and description, its stations and their locations (on a new dashboard rounded to about 1 km by default; the administrator can switch this off), to anyone who opens its address. After publishing is switched off, new visitors lose access within a minute, but a browser that opened the page recently may keep showing its saved copy for up to about 11 minutes. Separately, the service administrator on the LimnoLog operator's side can open a project to handle a support request and keep the service running and secure; changes it makes that way to measurements, sessions, stations and project settings are recorded in the activity log.

Yes. Online, you can export whole projects to Excel, or to CSV for STATISTICA and R, whenever you like - no proprietary format stands in the way. Offline, export covers only the data stored on your device, so for a large project with a long history it may be incomplete.

A project administrator can download a full backup file (.json): stations, parameters (calculated ones with their formulas), sessions and measurements. Restoring it creates a new project and does not overwrite an existing one. If the weekly e-mail backup is on, the same file arrives in your inbox - or, when the project is too large to attach, a link to download it in the app. Photos, members and connectors are not included.

Three mechanisms, each for a different situation. On your device: with no connection, or when it drops while you save, the measurement waits on the device, marked as saved locally, and a closed tab or a flat battery does not remove it. Until it syncs, that device holds the only copy - do not clear the browser data or uninstall the app before you are back online. On the server, the database is backed up every night and the copies are kept for 35 days; they exist to restore the service after a failure, not to bring back a single project on request. For that, keep your own backup file.

Yes. You can delete a session or, as the owner, a whole project - both are removed from the database permanently. A deleted single measurement disappears from the app, while its row stays as an audit trace until its session or project is deleted. Deleting your account anonymises your profile; measurements you entered in shared projects stay there without your name, so delete what you want gone first. Deleted data can remain in encrypted service backups for up to 35 days (database) or 90 days (files).
