How your data is protected

Your data is hosted in the European Union and processed in line with the GDPR. Access is enforced row by row at the database level, so people only ever see the projects they belong to.
Backed up - and hard to lose
Data is backed up on a weekly cycle - on the server and, if you keep it on, as an independent copy delivered straight to your own inbox. The offline buffer means a measurement is safe on your device before it ever reaches the server, so a dropped connection, a closed tab or a flat battery does not cost you a reading.
Full audit history of every change
Every measurement carries its own change history - who entered or edited it and when. Sessions can be approved and locked, giving you QA/QC in the spirit of ISO 17025 and a defensible record for reports and audits.
Export any time - no lock-in
Your data is yours. Export whole projects to Excel, or to CSV for STATISTICA and R, whenever you like - and delete your account and data on request under the GDPR. LimnoLog is a home for your data, not a trap.

Where is my data stored? +
In the European Union, on infrastructure processed in line with the GDPR. Access is controlled per row in the database so users only see projects they are members of.
What stops me from losing data? +
Two things: weekly backups on the server, and an offline-first buffer that keeps every measurement safe on your device until it has synced - so an interruption never costs you data.
Can I get my data out? +
Always. Export full projects to Excel, or to CSV for STATISTICA and R, at any time. There is no lock-in and no proprietary dead end.
Can I delete my data? +
Yes. You can request deletion of your account and data under the GDPR, and calculated and audit records are handled consistently with that.
Who can see my projects? +
Only the people you invite. Roles control who can view, edit or administer, and database-level rules make sure nobody sees a project they are not a member of.
