Changelog

What’s new in the app - the key changes across releases.

v1.48.0 - v1.61.0 October 2026 Latest

App & platform

  • Help and the app now open in the language of the limnolog.com or limnolog.pl page you came from, and clicking Help no longer switches the app to Polish. Signed-in users always see the language from their account settings. The data deletion and accessibility pages in German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese now show the English version instead of the Polish one.

Field work & data entry

  • A new account starts with one question: where are you starting from? You can pick measurements in a spreadsheet, your own stations, a template, a public station or the demonstration project first - each answer leads the shortest way, and you can skip the question. The “public station” answer opens the connector wizard right away in a new project. The “First steps” list stays on the project list until you enter your first measurement.
  • Getting started is simpler: a project created from a template shows up on your list right away and opens on the sessions screen with a prompt to enter the first measurement. The demo project is clearly labelled and leads you to create your own, and the project view has a help button.
  • Spreadsheet import now says exactly what it left out: it lists skipped columns with data and, when “Check data” is disabled, shows what is missing. It also recognises station columns by everyday names such as “Site” or “Location”, and re-importing your own export no longer warns about its descriptive columns while stating plainly that measurement exclusions are not carried over.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Connectors now say more clearly when data has stopped flowing: when fetches succeed but no new readings arrive, the connector card shows the station and indicator, since when readings are missing, and whether the source is not publishing or the time setting needs fixing. The wizard also warns when the chosen time field holds only a date without a time (only one reading per day would be saved) and no longer suggests such a field automatically.
  • Tidy up automatic readings: connector readings from a chosen period, stations and indicators can now be deleted or excluded from analysis - with a preview of how many readings will change, a clean-up history and undo. Deleted readings are accepted again when a device sends them once more; a connector fetching from an API brings them back only for the period its fetch window still covers.

App & platform

  • limnolog.com, limnolog.pl and the app are easier to read and work better with screen readers: small text, links, buttons and field borders have stronger contrast in every theme, the calculators announce the result and point to the field with an error, and adding a row to the list no longer loses your place on the page. The accessibility statement describes the actual state, now also in English. In the app’s dark mode, notifications, error messages, delete buttons, active toggles, wizard steps, the sample scanner window and chart series labels are now easy to read too. Buttons and filters respond clearly when you hover over them, keyboard navigation shows focus in every field, and warnings in import and connectors stand out in colour again. On phones and tablets, buttons no longer stay highlighted after you tap them. Screen readers no longer read out arrows in buttons, and the calculation history table in the calculators can be scrolled with the keyboard.

Field work & data entry

  • Sample profile stays readable despite a typo in your data: the bar no longer stretches its scale because of one extreme value and no longer drops below zero for quantities that cannot be negative. Photos from the gallery no longer get the phone’s current position, station photos take their location from the file, and a photo taken without coverage remembers when it was taken.
  • Photos: deleting a session entered offline now also removes its photos waiting to be uploaded, and the button next to a photo is honestly called “Download photo” (the stored, reduced copy). The privacy policy, the data deletion page and the email sent before a project is deleted clearly explain what happens to photos, and the save status next to a measurement field no longer disappears when a session scheduled for later that day refreshes.

Other improvements

  • The Italian and Portuguese versions of the app and of the limnolog.com product pages, calculators, pricing and installation now use a consistent, professional register, like the handbooks and standards that laboratories in those countries rely on. The most-read Italian and Portuguese articles, including those on oxygen, flow, turbidity, cyanobacteria, eutrophication, pH and water hardness, now use the same register.

Analysis & quality control

  • Charts can now connect a series across short gaps in the data. In the indicator norms window you choose how long a gap to connect (3 to 48 hours) - useful for data published with gaps, such as IMGW river discharge, which appears only during the day. The connection is drawn as a dotted line and explained under the chart, so it never passes for a measurement, and a longer sensor outage still breaks the line. Averages and statistics use real measurements only. The same applies to PNG export, the PDF report and the public dashboard.

Field work & data entry

  • The calculators on limnolog.pl and limnolog.com now say more precisely what they compute. Carlson’s TSI shows a trophic class for each component (transparency, chlorophyll, phosphorus) and warns when the components disagree strongly - the average is only an aid. The river discharge calculator warns when the cross-section does not reach the banks, and BMWP and water hardness describe their scope more clearly. When you start a project from a calculator file, the wizard ticks the calculated indicators for you (e.g. TSI, hardness), so LimnoLog computes them for you.
  • If your sign-in on a device stops being valid while you are working in the app (for example after a dropped connection while it was being renewed, or after the account was deleted on another device), the app now clearly signs you out, suggests your email address and shows how many unsynced changes are waiting on that device. Your changes are kept. Previously the app could still look signed in while showing empty lists and an endless “Syncing…”.
  • Settings now has a “Sign out on all devices” button. If you lose a field phone or leave a computer signed in, it cuts off access to your account on every device within an hour at most. Instructions, including what happens to push notifications, are in the Help FAQ.

App & platform

  • Security review: signing out on a shared device now also turns off push notifications for that account and clears its working data from the browser (after signing back in, turn notifications on again in Settings), and deleting an account also clears data stored for offline work. CSV export cells that start with a formula character get a leading apostrophe so a spreadsheet won’t run them as formulas.

Field work & data entry

  • Deleting a sampling session now also removes its measurements from charts, analyses, reports and exports. Previously, measurements of a deleted session could still show up on the chart and in the export even though the session itself was gone from the list.
  • Changes entered offline that the server can’t accept (e.g. the session was approved in the meantime) no longer disappear silently: the app lists them with the reason and lets you retry or discard them. Import skips and lists rows of approved sessions instead of rejecting the whole batch, and the overwritten count includes only those the database actually saved.

Analysis & quality control

  • Team activity now shows changes to session details: who changed the date, time, location, weather, water level, air temperature or notes, and when. For drift correction it also shows how many measurements were corrected, including in approved sessions.

Other improvements

  • The Sessions filter in project activity now shows session changes, and event names and dates appear in your interface language. An offline edit to a measurement that someone deleted in the meantime no longer brings it back silently; it goes to the list of unsaved changes instead. On Android, the back button now closes the confirmation dialog first, not the window behind it.

App & platform

  • With the app set to English, Help now has four English-language video guides, with subtitles, chapters and a checklist: a first project and measurements, importing data from Excel or CSV (with a sample file), offline field work, and reading a chart with a daily mean and saving it as PNG. A video only starts downloading after you click it.
  • Help in English now has a fifth English-language video guide: the public dashboard. It shows how to check the scope of indicators and the widgets before you share a project, what a viewer sees at the public link, and how to stop sharing. The video sits in the “Public dashboard” section of the import and export topic, with subtitles, chapters and a checklist; the data in the example is real, with the sources named (USGS, PEGELONLINE, Eawag Datalakes). The video is in English and shows in Help only when the app is set to English.

Analysis & quality control

  • The BOD₅ calculator no longer gives a “clean water” rating, because what the result means depends on the type of sample - instead it explains the seed factor and nitrification. The oxygen saturation calculator now says, where you download the file, that the app recalculates saturation for fresh water at 1013.25 hPa, and the indicator description in the app now correctly says that the result is underestimated at lower pressure or in saline water.
  • The “Value spikes” card in Review now shows only real excursions: a value that jumps away and comes back, including when a sensor reports a wrong value (such as zeros) for a few hours and then returns to normal. The ordinary daily rise and fall of temperature or oxygen no longer lands on the list, and detection also works for data rounded by the source. The “Frozen sensor” card now marks only a reading that stays unchanged for at least 6 hours (3 days for rounded data), not just a few identical values in a row. A frozen sensor applies to continuous logging (at most 6 hours between readings). To apply the new rules to stored data, click “Recompute quality flags” in the project’s Review tab.

App & platform

  • The Getting started guide now explains activating a project and that a value saves itself when you leave the field. With the app set to Polish, Help also offers five Polish-language video guides with a new, clearer narrator and even volume, plus subtitles, chapters and a checklist: a first project, importing from Excel or CSV, offline field work, reading a chart with a daily mean and saving it as PNG, and a project’s public dashboard.

Field work & data entry

  • Numbers in the measurement field, change history, bulk correction and the calculated-result preview now follow your language - with the English interface you see a decimal point (“18.4”), not a Polish comma (“18,4”). In the field you can type a number with either a point or a comma, in any language.

App & platform

  • The “verify you are human” check on the sign-in and sign-up screens now speaks the language of the app (all seven languages) instead of Polish regardless of your settings. If you switch language without reloading the page, the check redraws itself in the new language.

Field work & data entry

  • Import now recognises the columns of the files the app creates itself - the import template and the CSV/Excel export - in all seven languages. Previously, in English the “Measurement date” column had to be picked by hand, and in French and Spanish the station and parameter columns too.

Other improvements

  • Messages about an import file that is too large, too many rows, and an incomplete or oversized backup now appear in the app’s language, with numbers in your format (no longer Polish text with a Polish thousands separator). The “+” button on the project list also has a screen-reader label in your language.

Field work & data entry

  • New projects start in your device’s time zone. You can change it in the wizard; the app suggests a change for older projects still using the default Warsaw zone. Dates in charts, reports, exports and sensor data stay consistent, including around clock changes.

Analysis & quality control

  • Large backups preserve quality-control decisions: flags, exclusions, corrections and device links. Restoring historical measurements does not send new alerts about past breaches. Public dashboard averages assign readings to the correct days, including when a sensor series crosses local midnight.

Field work & data entry

  • Session cards now show the measurement count with the correct singular or plural in every language, for example “1 measurement” and “4 measurements”.
  • The Excel import preview and the sample values shown while assigning columns now display dates from your file in your date format, for example “2026-09-28”, instead of a technical timestamp with a time-zone name. A date without a time no longer gets a fake time shifted by your time zone. The project wizard from a spreadsheet now uses the correct singular or plural for detected stations and parameters. The import button now states the number of measurements to save, for example “Import 18 measurements”, instead of a misleading number of “rows”.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • On public dashboards and in their preview, chart buttons (axis scale and export) no longer spill outside the tile at medium window widths; when space runs out, they move below the station list.
  • Charts are more consistent: with daily aggregation the axis no longer skips days of a short range (when space is tight, labels are thinned evenly), the last axis label is no longer clipped in the downloaded image, and the tooltip uses the same decimal separator as the axis and your date format. The caption of an exported public-dashboard chart now states the real data step (for example “Every 2 h”) when points are grouped more coarsely than the “Hourly” setting.
  • The time axis of a chart covering a few days now marks whole days and round hours (for example “25 Sep”, “26 Sep”) instead of arbitrary times such as “17:12”.

Other improvements

  • Other improvements: changing a project’s time zone refreshes report data, and dismissing a time-zone suggestion affects only that project. Import skips a row with a future date and reports its number instead of rejecting the whole file.
v1.35.1 - v1.47.4 September 2026

Analysis & quality control

  • Daily, weekly and monthly charts and the tiles of public dashboards show the same day on every device - also outside the Warsaw time zone: September is no longer labelled “31 Aug”, and “last measurement” works out the day by the project time zone. In the app, the day on a chart is counted by the project time zone (a note under the chart says which), so it matches analysis, export and the public dashboard; the times in the JSON export are in the project time zone, just like the date. Project backup, restore and cloning now keep the project time zone (a restored copy used to fall back to Warsaw). Backup also restores projects with automatic sensor readings correctly: sensor data stays separate from manual entries of the same day (restoring such a project used to fail), and restored sessions keep their place description and no longer create needless field trips. New projects get your device’s time zone (you can change it in the wizard), and for projects still on the default Warsaw zone the app suggests switching to your device’s zone. Import no longer rejects the whole batch because of one row with a future date - that row is skipped with its row number in the message, and the rest of the data goes in. Export and measurement search now filter a date range by the same day that shows in the date column - also for connector data (IMGW, NOAA, USGS): a reading taken at 00:30 Polish time no longer lands on the neighbouring day. Imports and connectors with local time in the hours right around a clock change (e.g. 01:30 on the changeover day) no longer shift a reading by one hour. The data table and CSV export of the “Behaviour over time” view now give the correct date (in time zones east of UTC they used to be one day early). On the public dashboard, daily, weekly and monthly averages worked out from individual measurements assign a measurement from a manual session whose date was changed afterwards to that session’s day - just like the app.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • The report (preview and PDF) now inflects the counts in its summary correctly (“1 measurement · 2 stations · 5 parameters”) in seven languages, and no longer shows empty brackets next to parameters without a unit. Data imported into a freshly synced, empty project shows up on the chart right away, without waiting for the device cache to refresh. Links from our website (e.g. the wizard with a sample CSV file) open the app in the language you chose.

App & platform

  • Large projects (tens of thousands of measurements) open faster: downloading measurements to your device and the counters in the “Review” tab no longer load the database every time you open a project. And if the download fails, the chart now says so and offers “Try again”, instead of claiming there are no measurements.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Public dashboards no longer fail now and then while the server refreshes their data - visitors get the latest ready version of the page instead of an error.

Analysis & quality control

  • Seasonality: the significance of the interannual trend is now robust to years that are unusual as a whole - warm or wet across all months at once. Previously such a year could produce a "significant trend" where there was none; p is now computed by shuffling the order of whole years. The test comparing two selected years is always computed on months, so the result no longer changes when you switch the chart bucket, and the note says plainly that it compares those two years rather than proving a lasting change. The CSV file carries the method and both p-values.
  • Analysis is more consistent about what it computed. The percentile of a point in Seasonality now uses the same method as the P10-P90 band, so a point marked "above P90" always has a percentile above 90 (with few background years it could previously sit next to "percentile 67"). The interannual trend leaves out the current month of the season in progress until that month ends, and reminds you that per-month p-values are descriptive. The "Trend analysis" panel under the chart counts days in the project time zone and weighs a manual measurement equally with a sensor series from the same day. Distributions report a more honest number of effective observations for day-by-day data, and the moving average is labelled as a trailing mean.
  • The calculators on our site now tell you plainly when the data look wrong, instead of quietly computing them. The biodiversity indices no longer count a taxon with an abundance of 0 towards the number of taxa and they merge repeated names (this used to lower Pielou evenness). Oxygen saturation no longer shows a negative concentration after a typo in the pressure, Carlson TSI points out when phosphorus was entered in mg/l instead of µg/l, and the concentration converter shows a trace concentration such as 0.3 µg/l as 0.0003 in the mg/l row instead of "0 mg/l".

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Public dashboards: a new dashboard now rounds station locations to about 1 km by default (exact coordinates can be switched on in the configurator), and control stations holding quality-control standards are no longer published - neither in the station list nor in charts, the readings table or current values - your audience sees the water, not the lab equipment.

Analysis & quality control

  • Time series charts: a station that measures hourly is now drawn as a continuous line even when a neighbouring probe on the same chart has a gap in its data - previously it broke up into single dots during such a gap. The line now breaks only where THAT station has no measurements, and a station that changes its measurement frequency (e.g. from every 5 minutes to hourly) no longer falls apart into points. The same applies to the Seasonality window, public dashboards, PNG/SVG export and charts in the PDF report. The moving average (7 or 30 days) now breaks together with the measurement line - previously it ran straight through periods without measurements and carried on past a station's last measurement (up to 7 or 30 days, depending on the window).
  • Process control: the whole control chart - the measurements, the control limits (UCL/LCL), the ±2σ warning lines and the mean line - is now clearly visible in dark mode - previously it barely stood out against the dark background. The same applies to the QC standard's warning and action limits. Depth profile: the lower and upper values from the project guidelines now share the same colour as on the other analysis charts - previously the lower one was amber and the upper one red, like the control chart's limits.

App & platform

  • Inviting someone to a project is now faster - start typing the name of someone from your other projects and the list suggests matches, no need to type a full e-mail address. When the match is unambiguous the card selects itself right away; with several similar names, you pick the right person with one click. Searching by a full e-mail address still works as before and also covers people outside your projects.

Analysis & quality control

  • Connectors now watch their success rate, not just outright failures. The connector card shows how many of the last 7 days’ fetches succeeded, and when a source starts rejecting part of the requests you get a notification with the numbers and the cause (e.g. "HTTP 503 × 18"). Previously an alert needed five failed fetches IN A ROW, so a connector dropping every tenth fetch looked perfectly healthy - green status, a fresh "last fetch", and silent gaps in the data.

App & platform

  • Dates in the app now follow your language’s convention: Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese use slashes (22/05/2026), Polish and German use dots, and English uses ISO (2026-05-22). Previously those four languages got the Polish/German notation. Export files are unchanged: the date is always ISO, so loading them in another program stays unambiguous.
  • When you create your own parameter, you type its name in YOUR language - the required field now follows the interface language instead of always being Polish. The English name stays optional (useful when sharing a project and for exports), and names already entered in other languages are preserved when you edit.

Field work & data entry

  • On the calculators - oxygen saturation, water hardness, ammonia toxicity and Carlson TSI - "Add to list" and "Download the table (CSV)" now sit right below the result. Previously the only save button hid in the last column of the grey preview row, and the file with your calculations appeared only after two readings had been added - so anyone who worked out a single result and wanted to take it along had no way to. You can now download the file from the very first calculation, and the free-project offer appears after the first added reading.
  • The "project template (.json)" button on the calculators now carries your calculations, not just an empty configuration. Once you have something on the list, you download a file from which the app rebuilds a ready project - site, parameters, measurement days and values - in one load, with no import screen and no column matching. Calculated parameters (e.g. oxygen saturation) are computed by the app itself after loading, using its own formula. The button label tells you what you get: with an empty list it is still a ready-made template to start from scratch. And if you hit the sign-in screen on your way to the wizard, you will now see a line telling you that you will return exactly there.
  • Photos now browse like a gallery - swipe, arrow keys and keyboard, without going back to the grid. A counter tells you how many there are and where you are, the footer shows the station, photo type and caption, and "back" closes the preview instead of leaving the entry form. Photos for the PDF report can finally be viewed full size BEFORE you pick them - the 🔍 button on a tile (or a long press) opens the preview, and you decide "in the report / not in the report" without returning to the grid. One habit changes: tapping the photo itself no longer closes it - use ✕, the area around the frame, Esc or a downward swipe.
  • You can now zoom a photo with a double-tap or a pinch (up to 3x) and pan around the frame - a probe label or a seal number is finally readable. From the preview itself you can delete the photo and download the original to your device, without going back to the grid. The full preview also works where it did not exist before: you can look at report attachments before sending them, open guide screenshots full screen, and a pin on the photo map opens the photo at full size.
  • Browsing photos is now smoother: a finger swipe glides all the way through instead of stopping halfway, and with a mouse you can switch photos by dragging - just like with a finger (the arrow buttons now also appear on a phone with a mouse attached). The scroll wheel or trackpad zooms right at the point under the cursor.

Analysis & quality control

  • Excluding or accepting a single measurement in the "Verification" tab is now instant, even in projects with tens of thousands of measurements - previously each click could briefly freeze the app while it re-downloaded the entire project.
  • Chart axes no longer drop digits on large values. The axis width now adapts to the longest label, and when the numbers are genuinely large the axis states a shared multiplier (e.g. ×10⁶) instead of cutting off the minus sign and the leading digits - a "minus one million" tick could previously look like zero. For typical values (pH, oxygen, nitrogen) the axis is narrower than before, leaving more room for the plot itself. This applies to PNG exports and PDF reports too.
  • Connectors now recognize "no reading" placeholder values that some sensors and loggers send instead of a real measurement (e.g. -9999, -999999) and skip them instead of saving them as a genuine result - previously such a value could trigger a false threshold alert or, in extreme cases, break the connector entirely. On top of that, connector data that is physically impossible for a given parameter is now automatically quarantined in the "Verification" tab and excluded from statistics until you review it.
  • Sample Profile: the downloadable PNG now writes numbers in your decimal format (comma or period), matching what you see on screen, and the compliance badge no longer overflows the layout on narrow phone screens. We also clarified the status wording - "in control" (statistical process control) and "within guideline" (compliance with your project's set range) are now clearly two different things.

App & platform

  • The pricing page and the Terms now say the same thing about how long your data lives: on the Free plan the measurement history has no time limit, and a project is archived only after 12 months without any activity - preceded by two e-mails, the first with a full export of your measurements attached. The pricing page used to announce a 90-day history window that we never applied.

Field work & data entry

  • The file you download from the calculators now looks like the table on the page: one calculation is one row, and every parameter has its own column with a unit. Under the download button there are also three steps telling you exactly where to load the file so it becomes a project.

Analysis & quality control

  • The connector run history now says plainly whose side a problem was on. A failure on our side gets its own entry ("Error on our side") together with a note that your configuration is untouched, and it no longer counts towards automatically disabling the connector - previously such a momentary glitch could report itself as "no mappings", i.e. as a flaw in your settings. A broken connection to the source is now called a connection error, not a parse error. On top of that, the parameter and station assignment is now saved all-or-nothing - a dropped connection mid-save will no longer leave the connector with no parameters assigned. In multi-station mode the history now shows how many requests went to the source and how many of them failed - previously a connector whose stations partly stopped answering reported a clean success.
  • The "Seasonality" view in Advanced Charts now has three modes: overlay any seasons, show just the multi-year background, or compare the current season against the envelope from previous years - each point then shows its percentile against history, and incidents (crossing P90/P10 or a guideline) are visible right away. Previously the window only computed a mean ± standard deviation across all years at once, with no way to compare specific seasons. The old "Season comparison" toggle (Year A/Year B) in the Charts tab has been REMOVED - a link to this same, new Seasonality window replaces it.
  • Seasonality: when the multi-year background can't be computed for the chosen time bucket, the chart says why and suggests a wider bucket, instead of leaving an unexplained blank chart. When the background is only built from part of the buckets, the chart says so explicitly, instead of showing a partial picture as a complete one.
  • Seasonality: the previous-years envelope, grid and axis labels now have contrast tuned for dark mode - previously they were barely visible on a dark background. For indicators with a wide range (e.g. microbiological ones) we added a logarithmic-scale toggle. Individual years are now distinguishable not just by color but also by line style and point shape, and a text table with the same data sits below the chart. From the incident list (guideline crossings) you reach the session behind a given measurement in one click. We fixed the same contrast on the box-plot chart in Distributions. Along the way: the "Ready to publish" export variants (narrow column/page with print typography) are now available only on the time-series chart - on the other charts they produced a file with illegibly small axis labels; the regular PNG/SVG export still works everywhere as before.
  • Chart export (PNG and SVG) now always comes out in light colors, even when the app is in dark mode - the file lands on a white sheet either way, and until now it carried the screen's colors: axis labels could become unreadable and the grid darker than the data itself. The color key under the title now shows exactly the colors the lines are drawn in. In trend analysis, the direction arrow is no longer painted red/green - an increase can be good (e.g. oxygen, transparency), and the color implied a judgment the app doesn't make.

App & platform

  • Connector configuration now speaks your language. The poll frequency, connector status and run history were available in Polish and English only - German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese interfaces showed Polish labels. They are now translated into all seven languages. Parameter names in the connector wizard and in Quick entry also follow the app language instead of showing the Polish version.

Other improvements

  • We improved column matching when importing an aggregated sheet - a column named with a parameter code now always lands on the right parameter.
  • Photo viewer: a double tap zooms the photo on the first try again - on a phone it previously took four taps before anything happened. The notifications list now opens above the bottom navigation bar instead of hiding behind it.
  • The save-status indicator under each measurement field (e.g. "saving…", "saved locally", "out of range") now speaks your language - it previously showed Polish text regardless of the app's language setting. The “Offline” notice no longer covers the “Next station” button on narrow phones - including languages with longer text.

Analysis & quality control

  • Seasonality: with two years selected you now see the difference between seasons (median difference, the period with the largest divergence, and the peak shift in days), and you can download the "bucket × year" table for your annual report as CSV. You set the season definition (e.g. bathing instead of calendar) once in the project settings - a view can temporarily override it without changing it permanently.
  • Seasonality: once you have at least 5 seasons of data in the same month, the window shows an interannual trend within the season - whether values in the same months are systematically rising or falling year over year - with a rate of change per year, and from at least 8 month×year values also its significance, computed with a seasonal Mann-Kendall test on months; you can download the result together with how it was computed as CSV.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Public-data connectors lose fewer readings: the NOAA and PEGELONLINE templates now fetch the last 6 hours, so a reading missed during a brief source outage is filled in on the next fetch, while the number of stored measurements still matches the frequency you chose. The USGS template uses the new Water Data API, because the current USGS services will be shut down in early 2027. A dropped connection to the source is retried automatically within the same fetch, and a brief outage of a provider's sign-in server (OAuth) is no longer reported as an authentication error.
  • The seasons tile on the public dashboard now lets you pick which years to compare (up to 5) and show them against a multi-year background - a note under the chart explains how that background is computed. Existing seasons tiles now draw daily averages for one station instead of the full raw series - the picture may change slightly without any action on your part.

Other improvements

  • Other fixes: importing a spreadsheet now skips cells with unusual number notation (scientific notation resulting in infinity, hexadecimal) instead of occasionally aborting the whole batch of rows.
  • The "connector is dropping readings" notification in the bell now has the connector icon, shows the connector and project name, and tapping it opens the project - previously it was an anonymous entry that led nowhere.
  • New-project templates (lake, river, wastewater treatment plant, urban monitoring) and the demonstration project now speak your language: names and descriptions are also available in French, Italian and Portuguese, and stations are created with names in the project language (previously always in Polish, e.g. “Dopływ”, “Brzeg”). The demonstration project is created in your interface language - previously, with German, Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese, its project language was set to Polish, so exports and reports from the demo came out in Polish.
v1.22.0 - v1.34.5 August 2026

Field work & data entry

  • The session list now shows your field work, while automatic connector capture collapses into a single row you can expand when needed. You can also load older sessions, so a project's history no longer stops at the fiftieth one.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • The connector run log now says outright when a fetch was capped: what was skipped, why, and whether that data will still arrive. It is now available for webhook connectors too - until now only the sending device knew a batch had been capped.
  • On the public dashboard you can now state your own data source, shown in the page footer. A chart combining measurements taken at very different rates now shows daily averages and says so, instead of hiding the other series behind a wall of points.

Analysis & quality control

  • The alert about a control standard out of limit finally arrives with content: the indicator, station, reading and expected value, in your language and as a phone notification too. Lab technicians now receive it as well, and correcting a mistyped value raises the alert just like the original entry.
  • The control standard alert now opens the chart for that station and indicator right away, instead of leaving you on the session list. From the quality queue you reach the log of the device behind a suspect measurement in one click, and the standard and its chart now link to each other.
  • Probe drift correction is no longer a note in a drawer: in Analysis mode you can now switch charts and statistics over to compensated values, and every image and file you download says which numbers it was built from. The raw value stays untouched.
  • A calibration event can now carry the calibration curve itself - slope, intercept, R² fit and the number of standards. It stays in the device log as evidence, visible right in the event list.
  • A project backup now also restores quality control: control stations with their limits, quality marks on measurements, rejections together with their reasons, and probe drift corrections. Until now that work was lost on restore.
  • The process control chart now states how many points and which period its limits came from - and with a short series it warns that they are preliminary instead of declaring "within limits" on the strength of a few readings. The same note travels with the chart image and the data file.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • The measurement export now carries the system's assessment alongside the human decision: quality marks, the review outcome and the drift-corrected value. We also fixed the column layout in CSV files - some columns were shifted relative to the header.

Analysis & quality control

  • The app now works out oxygen saturation for you - all it needs is temperature and dissolved oxygen in the project. No more converting it separately in a calculator.

Field work & data entry

  • The calculators on our site - oxygen saturation, water hardness, ammonia toxicity and Carlson TSI - now keep a list of readings. You add a reading with a single click, so the list holds exactly what you meant to keep. You can download it as a file, or move it straight into a project of your own - with a chart and a threshold.
  • We fixed file picking on phones: a file downloaded from a calculator could end up greyed out when starting a project from a spreadsheet or importing data. You can now select it normally.

Analysis & quality control

  • The app now also works out toxic ammonia (NH₃) from ammonium nitrogen, pH and temperature, and the Carlson trophic state index (TSI) - from transparency, chlorophyll or phosphorus. All it needs is those indicators in the project.
  • The sample profile now has a scale and puts exceedances at the top of the list, so what stands out is visible at a glance. Chart images saved for a report carry the station, date range and legend - the file stands on its own once it leaves the app.

App & platform

  • On a large monitor the analysis finally uses the full available width, and maps are readable in dark mode too.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Data exports now flag measurements you excluded from the analysis - together with the reason - and the summary sheets no longer count them. What you see in the app and in the report now matches what you get in the spreadsheet.
  • The trend summary in the PDF report describes change more faithfully - a station measuring every hour no longer outweighs the rest of your network.

Analysis & quality control

  • Standards measured at control stations no longer mix into the water-quality statistics - they stay where they belong, in process control.

App & platform

  • Downloading a full project backup now works for very large projects too - the file is prepared in batches, with visible progress, and no longer breaks off partway.
  • Dark mode is now readable everywhere - in the report preview, on the label sheet and on the public project dashboard.
  • We tidied up what we promise on the site. The pricing page now clearly marks features that are still planned, and the privacy policy and data deletion page now say exactly how to turn off the weekly email backup and what really disappears when you delete a single measurement.

Other improvements

  • Axis labels on charts with a narrow value range no longer repeat the same number, downloaded file names keep local characters, the default CSV format follows the project language, screens now open without a full-screen interruption, and a paused connector that cannot be resumed now tells you why.

Field work & data entry

  • When you start a project from your own spreadsheet, we now suggest the indicators we can calculate for you from the uploaded columns - just tick them and the values appear right at import, for the whole history.
  • The import screen now recognises the layout of the uploaded spreadsheet and opens the right column-mapping mode straight away - telling you what it detected, with one-click undo.
  • Importing large spreadsheets is noticeably faster in projects without automatically calculated indicators.

Analysis & quality control

  • Water hardness can now be calculated automatically: total hardness from calcium and magnesium, plus the split into carbonate and non-carbonate hardness from hardness and alkalinity. Just add them to your project - each indicator states which determinations it needs.
  • The sample profile now states how many readings each value is based on - in the app, in the preview and on a published dashboard. With sensor data an "in range" verdict rests on a whole-day average, and that is now visible at a glance.
  • The depth profile fits on one screen again - with dense sonde profiles the chart stretched over several screens, so its shape could not be seen at once.
  • Clearer method-comparison charts - points now fill the whole chart instead of huddling in a corner, and the notes on process control explain more accurately why the limits can come out too tight.
  • A measurement rejected in quality control no longer distorts the chart scale - a single bad value could flatten the whole chart into a bottom strip.
  • The same data now gives the same results in the app, in the configuration preview and on the public dashboard - we unified how samples and measurement days are computed, and charts now state how many readings sit behind each point.
  • Measurements rejected in quality control no longer appear on the public dashboard - the page now shows the same data you see in the app after review.
  • Analysis results are now shown separately for each station, and rates of change use a unit matched to the range of your data - so conclusions no longer mix different sites or reach beyond the measured period.
  • On aggregated charts you can now pick minimum and maximum alongside the mean, and the app tells you how many guideline exceedances averaging alone would hide.
  • In principal component analysis you can now choose whether you are looking at differences between stations or at relationships inside each of them - and the app tells you when it is worth switching, because station differences alone can dominate the picture.
  • The vertical profile now points out the layer of steepest change together with its value per metre - for temperature that means reading the thermocline without estimating it by eye.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • The public dashboard now shows relationships between indicators separately for each station and states plainly how many stations have complete data.

Field work & data entry

  • When a save fails, you now get a clear message telling you what to fix - instead of a technical database description.
  • In quick entry you can no longer set a measurement date or time in the future by mistake.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • We fixed an issue where a reading collected correctly from an external source could still be marked as failed - the connector showed a warning even though the data reached your project.
  • A connector now stores exactly as many readings as the selected frequency implies - even when the source publishes more often. Your project no longer fills up with surplus measurements.
  • Connector telemetry now keeps exactly the frequency you choose - with hourly readings you get a full 24 measurements a day.
  • For once- or twice-daily readings you can now choose the time of day - morning, afternoon, evening or night.
  • On a public dashboard the correlation chart shows readable values on its axes again - instead of numbers with many decimal places.
  • On a public dashboard the season comparison chart is now fully translated - its labels appear in the visitor's language.

App & platform

  • You can now also get LimnoLog from Huawei AppGallery - for Huawei devices and any phone with that store.

Analysis & quality control

  • The depth profile chart now labels its axis in your language - it previously showed a Polish abbreviation there regardless of your settings.
v0.126 - v1.20.0 July 2026

Highlights

  • LimnoLog 1.0 - this is our first full release. After two months of intensive development, the platform is mature and ready for everyday work in the field and in the lab.
  • The native Android app is now on Google Play - with QR scanner, GPS and printing. The interface now works in seven languages - French, Italian and (Brazilian) Portuguese have joined.
  • Publication-ready advanced analysis - principal components (PCA), control charts, probe-vs-lab comparison (Deming regression, Bland-Altman plot), trend tests and correlations - and you can add the results straight into a PDF report.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Public dashboards now open instantly - charts, map and current values appear together instead of loading one after another. A widely shared page handles far more traffic, and the "current values" tile always shows the most recent reading, including in projects with years of measurement history.

App & platform

  • The app starts faster - it now downloads only the translations for your language instead of all seven at once.
  • You can now see how much space your offline data takes on the device - and free it with a single tap. Settings gained a "Device storage" section with a size for every project; data removed from the phone comes back when you open the project online. History loaded for analysis also stops taking up space forever - if you do not return to a project for a while, it frees itself.
  • Your project list now settles instantly when you open the app - no more tiles jumping around before they reach their final order.
  • We fixed downloading a copy of your data (JSON) - it used to fail when you had a lot of measurements. The file is now created no matter how much data your account holds, and it contains everything.
  • Your weekly project backup now arrives reliably - if a delivery is delayed, we catch up within the same week. Project settings show the status of recent copies, so you can see at a glance whether the backup arrived.
  • The files in your backup email now open correctly in Excel, come in the project language, and the measurement dates match what you see in the app.
  • We fixed a glitch where, after closing certain dialogs (e.g. the integration wizard), scrolling could stop working until the app was restarted.
  • Notifications in the bell now show their full details and are clickable - tap one to jump straight to the right place: a project, a report or a scheduled session.
  • The LimnoLog Android app is now available on Google Play - get the native version with QR scanner, GPS and printing straight from the store.
  • We added a Portuguese (Brazilian) language version - the entire app interface, exports, PDF reports and email notifications are now available in Portuguese (the seventh language alongside Polish, English, German, Spanish, French and Italian).
  • We added an Italian language version - the entire app interface, exports, PDF reports and email notifications are now available in Italian (the sixth language alongside Polish, English, German, Spanish and French).
  • We added a French language version - the entire app interface, exports, PDF reports and email notifications are now available in French (the fifth language alongside Polish, English, German and Spanish).
  • We expanded the list of project time zones with new regions - including Italy, Portugal, Canada and four Brazilian zones - so that times in exports and on public dashboards are correct for teams around the world.
  • We sped up work with large projects (tens of thousands of measurements) and made offline mode more reliable - the app no longer shows "Offline" by mistake when the server just takes a moment longer to respond.
  • The project owner is now protected - another administrator can no longer change the owner’s role or remove them from the project. Changing the owner is a deliberate action, done by transferring ownership.
  • We tightened permission management - only the project owner can now grant or revoke the administrator role. Other administrators manage regular team members, but can’t change other administrators’ permissions.
  • We improved the project invitation email - it now clearly shows which address the invitation was sent to, and notes that if you’d rather use a different address, you can simply contact the administrator who invited you.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • We have rebuilt the data export screen. You now choose the file format at the top - XLSX, CSV, JSON or PDF - and the screen shows only the settings that apply to it. Instead of five similar buttons there is one, always at hand at the bottom. We added "select all" buttons for stations and indicators.
  • Data export and reports with a date filter now also work in projects with a long measurement history - previously, downloading data for a single day could end with an error even though it covered just a few hundred rows.
  • Generating large files no longer freezes the app - you can keep scrolling and working while the file is being built. Previously, with tens of thousands of measurements, the interface could freeze for tens of seconds.
  • Export and reports now show progress: you can see how many measurements have been downloaded and what is happening right now, and you can stop the process with a single button. If it takes longer, we let you know the file is being prepared in the background and you can safely move to another screen.
  • We fixed PDF export in large projects - the file could fail to save even though the app said it was ready. PDF files are now many times smaller, and if saving fails the app tells you plainly instead of showing a false confirmation.
  • We improved the readability of PDF reports. The trend chart scale now shows actual measured values with a guide line, the statistics table gained a median column, and the correlation matrix is sharp regardless of the number of indicators. For short campaigns the report draws a daily trend instead of a "not enough data" message, and when no limits are set in the project it says so plainly instead of showing "zero exceedances".
  • Connecting your own devices is now simpler. A wizard designs the data format for you from the stations and indicators in your project, and at the end you can print a ready specification - the document a developer uses to write the program that sends measurements to LimnoLog. The data receiving address and token are finally fully visible on a phone.
  • Time-series charts now draw a proper line even when stations were measured at different times on the same day - previously such data showed as scattered points only. The tooltip now lists every station from that date.
  • Gaps in measurements now show as gaps - the chart no longer draws a line across a period when nothing was measured. Charts with many measurements recalculate instantly, and the moving average no longer freezes the app.
  • New publication export for charts - a single-column or double-column journal version, with legible axis labels and series that stay distinguishable in black-and-white print.
  • Charts are easier to read on the phone: the tooltip is now compact and no longer covers the whole chart, and the station legend takes up less space. The axis scale also leaves a margin, so extreme values and guideline lines no longer blend into the chart frame. The chart export menu no longer runs off-screen, and thinner series lines are now easier to see.
  • Public dashboards stay smooth even with many visitors at once and load large charts faster.
  • On public dashboards, chart times now display in the project’s time zone - the same chart looks identical regardless of the viewer’s device and location.
  • On public charts covering longer periods, threshold exceedances are now always visible - a short-lived spike no longer "disappears" into the daily average.
  • The weekly email backup and reports now include all of a project’s measurements - even in very large projects, where the file could previously stop partway through the data.

Field work & data entry

  • A note on a measurement and the reason for changing it now save without a signal too - previously text typed in the field could be lost. Actions that genuinely need a connection (such as resolving anomalies or restoring an earlier value) now say so, instead of looking like a click that did nothing.
  • We improved working without a signal when adding a quick measurement. Entries for the same moment now land in a single session and show up in it right away - previously the first measurement appeared only after syncing. A photo added to a session created in the field waits in the queue and uploads once you are back online, instead of failing with an error.
  • We now warn about an unusual value in a brand-new project too - previously the hint appeared only once a station had its own measurement history. From the very first entry we check whether the result falls within the indicator measuring range, which helps catch an order-of-magnitude slip or the wrong unit.
  • We enlarged the fields and buttons on the measurement entry screen - they are easier to hit in the field, including with gloves on. The unusual-value hint now appears under the whole row, so it no longer shifts the value or covers the unit.
  • We improved printing of QR sample labels - you can pick a layout that matches standard label sheets (e.g. 24 labels on A4), start from any position on a partly-used sheet, and print a test sheet for calibration. PDF files now save with a clear name (project and date).
  • When printing QR sample labels you now choose from your own measurement sessions - sessions created automatically by connectors are no longer listed. A scanned label therefore opens the entry where you expect it.
  • Manually entered results always go to your own measurement session and never to a session created automatically by a connector - this covers QR scanning, quick entry, file import and entries made offline. Field data and automatic readings stay separate, so completeness and quality control add up correctly.

Other improvements

  • We fixed translations on public dashboards - the correlation chart caption now appears in the language of the person viewing the dashboard.
  • We improved the reliability of connector data fetching for large public datasets (e.g. full IMGW station lists), which could previously exceed a size limit and stall the flow of data.

Field work & data entry

  • You can now set your own order of parameters in a project - it applies in data entry, charts and exports.
  • We made the measurement entry view more compact - notes and history now sit side by side, so more indicators fit on screen (the value field is unchanged).
  • We made ordering stations and parameters easier - you can drag them by a handle ("grab and move"), including by finger on phones and tablets (Samsung included); the drop target highlights. The arrows stay for keyboard.
  • The project activity log now records when a session is created or deleted - you can see who changed the data and when.
  • Scanning a sample QR code now works on iPad and in the Safari and Firefox browsers too - previously it was available only in the app from the store.

Other improvements

  • Other fixes: during data entry, indicator values now line up in the column whether or not they have a unit; we added a shortcut to the activity log in the project settings; pressing Enter in the map address search no longer closes the map window; after a new release the app refreshes itself instead of showing an error; while chart data is loading, a misleading message about too few measurements no longer flashes for a moment; the accessibility statement link now opens in your language, and content-language notices are read correctly by screen readers; the session air-temperature field now accepts a decimal comma; we refined dark-mode contrast, including on public dashboards; the aggregation selector is clear even on narrow phone screens and the PDF measurements table is grouped by station; and the "Sample profile" view now shows only the sample's own parameters, without the session's weather data; in the Android app, the beta-version banner's close button is no longer hidden under the status bar, and toggling push notifications no longer shows an accidental error message; in landscape on Android, the side navigation bar is no longer hidden under the status bar; and pop-up messages (e.g. the data-download progress) and buttons are no longer hidden under the bottom navigation bar or the gesture bar. We also fixed QR label printing - A4 sheets no longer run off the page and all columns fit, regardless of phone orientation (portrait or landscape). In landscape we hid the floating feedback button that overlapped cards (it is already in the side menu) and fixed the page shifting sideways after rotating the screen.

App & platform

  • We safeguarded project continuity: when an owner deletes their account, their projects automatically pass to another team administrator instead of being left ownerless.
  • Signing up is simpler - after registering you confirm your email with a code you type right in the app, without jumping to a browser.
  • On desktop you can now install the app with one button from the sign-in screen - with the option to create a desktop shortcut.
  • On iPhone and iPad the “Install the app” button now shows how to add LimnoLog to your Home Screen - the app works like a native one, without waiting for the App Store.
  • We tidied up the notification settings - all of them (email and push) are now in one place, with clearer descriptions of what we notify you about: report statuses, threshold exceedances, session reminders.
  • When assigning a role to a project member we added a handy “What do the roles mean?” cheat sheet - you can see at a glance what an administrator, lab technician, analyst and observer can do.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Your weekly project backup now works independently of the email notification settings - turning off notifications no longer stops your data backups. You can disable backups separately in the project settings.
  • Safer connector setup: if you try to remove a parameter used by a connector in the project, the app now warns you instead of silently leaving your data inconsistent.

App & platform

  • A big batch of accessibility improvements: you can now pinch-zoom the app, high-contrast mode works correctly in the dark theme too, and dialogs and dropdowns are fully keyboard-friendly. The app also works better with screen readers.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • You can now add control charts (SPC) and a correlation matrix between parameters to the PDF report - advanced analysis goes straight into a ready-made report, with no manual chart pasting.
  • We added a project timezone - exports, reports and the public dashboard now show times and dates consistently, no matter which device you open them on.

Field work & data entry

  • We improved the accuracy of times from automatic public sources (e.g. IMGW) and of reading times and dates from Excel cells on import. On import you can also set the file timezone (e.g. when a probe export is in UTC).

Analysis & quality control

  • On a chart with several stations every series is now drawn as a line, even when the stations measure at different rates - a station measuring less often than a probe used to appear as loose dots with no line joining them. Below the chart you can also see the range of measurement frequencies of the stations you are comparing.
  • Coming back to an interrupted review in the data quality centre is now easier: items awaiting a decision always sit at the top of the list, freshly detected ones get a "new" marker with the time they appeared, and the "to review / confirmed / excluded" counters now work as filters - one click shows only what you want to work on.
  • You can now open any chart in full screen - with a single button, and leave it with Escape or the back button. On a phone turned to landscape the chart uses the full width of the screen, so analysing a measurement series in the field is finally comfortable.
  • Full screen now also works on vertical profiles (CTD and depth), method comparison, two indicators over time, correlograms and season comparison - together with the legend and switches, so after zooming in you still know which series is which.
  • The "show data" panel under a chart now opens instantly, even for very long series - previously, with tens of thousands of measurements, it could freeze the view for a moment. You can also sort the columns of that table by clicking a header.
  • The data quality centre now lets you preview the actual measurements behind every type of anomaly - including a stuck sensor and sudden spikes. Previously you only saw counts, so it was hard to judge what you were about to discard.
  • You can now mark an anomaly as reviewed and genuine, with a short justification. The measurement stays in the statistics, charts and report, and the warning stops coming back. Until now, the only way to silence the alert was to exclude a valid measurement from the analysis.
  • You can now set an indicator's measuring range separately in each project. If your environment does not fit the default range (e.g. water level can be negative relative to a datum), you can silence the "out of range" warning with a single entry - without deleting or excluding valid measurements.
  • Measurements set aside from analysis no longer inflate the warning counter or the red dot on the project list - once you have reviewed an anomaly, it stops nagging.
  • We improved the accuracy of date-range filters in export and analysis around midnight - measurements near midnight now fall on the correct day.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • We improved the analysis charts in the PDF report and the live preview - each chart now has a clear station legend (colour = station) and the chart itself is fully visible.

Analysis & quality control

  • A new "Principal components" (PCA) analysis shows on a single chart which samples and stations are similar and which parameters drive the differences the most - a quick overview of many parameters at once, without leaving the app.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Connectors can now also receive data: a device, logger or script can push measurements straight into your project. Choose "Receive data (webhook)" in the wizard and you get a ready-made address, a token and a configuration example - with the option to disable or replace the token at any time.

Analysis & quality control

  • We fixed a bug where in some projects the correlation analysis reported a problem right after opening - it now opens correctly regardless of the data.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • In the PDF report builder the live preview now also shows the analysis charts - with "Include analysis charts" enabled you see exactly what the file will contain.

Field work & data entry

  • You can start a new project straight from your own spreadsheet: upload an Excel/CSV file and we'll detect the stations and match the parameters - then import the data right away.
  • We made importing easier: you can download a ready-made file template, we read CSV files in different encodings correctly, we warn about a possible unit mismatch, and quick entry flags values outside the parameter range.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • In the data connector wizard we organised the ready-made sources into clear groups (Your equipment, Public data, IoT platforms) and added a source search and a setup request - if you don't see your device, write to us and we'll help connect it.

Analysis & quality control

  • Data analysis is now publication-ready: every correlation shows statistical significance (p) and a confidence interval, we added a descriptive-statistics table, a trend test over time, distribution (box) plots with tests for differences between stations or seasons, and multi-year seasonality - with a short plain-language explanation under each result.
  • We refined significance tests and percentiles for small samples - with few measurements the analysis results are now consistent across views and more careful about calling results significant.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • You can now also download project data as JSON - handy for scripts, R, Python and integrations with other tools.
  • Threshold alerts are now calmer: we notify you once when a value crosses the guideline and once when it returns to normal, instead of repeating the message on every subsequent reading of a persistent exceedance.

Analysis & quality control

  • Getting data and charts out of the app is easier: you can download a CSV from every analysis chart, limit a project export to selected stations and parameters and tailor the CSV format to your tools, and save charts as vector (SVG) or at higher resolution and add them to the PDF report.

Field work & data entry

  • The import now understands “below the detection limit” results (e.g. “<0.05”): you can optionally load them as half the limit with a note in the comment, following common laboratory practice.
  • Migrating an Excel sheet into LimnoLog is easier: the import can create missing stations for you, lets you match unknown parameter names from the file, copes with merged date cells, an extra header row and the American date format, and you can undo the whole import with one button if something went wrong.

App & platform

  • We expanded the in-app help - the guides now cover every analysis mode (incl. PCA, distributions, seasonality), scheduled reports, webhooks, field outings, photos and team roles, and the contextual “?” takes you exactly to the right section.
  • We updated the privacy policy - it now fully describes what happens to your data (incl. photos, push notifications and backups with their retention periods), and account deletion cleans up your data even more thoroughly.
  • We explained the weekly email backups more clearly - what they contain and how to rebuild a whole project from them in a few clicks - and made those emails easier to opt out of without affecting your other notifications.
  • More control over the project team: you can now leave a project you were added to on your own, and the owner can hand the project over to another administrator.
  • A new “Activity” tab in project settings shows the team’s work log - who added a session, changed data, approved results or managed members.
  • We improved team management: we notify you about role changes and removal from a project, invitations can be resent (including expired ones), and after signing in you return straight to accepting the invitation.
  • In the sampling planner you can assign a field trip to a specific person - the reminder then goes only to them, not the whole team.
  • A project administrator can now choose which team members - beyond the administrators - receive alerts when a guideline is exceeded.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • We expanded data connectors: added ready-made templates for public sources from the US, the UK and Germany (alongside the existing IMGW and NOAA), we now notify you by email and push when automatic data fetching stops working or stops delivering fresh readings, and you can connect sources with an API key in the URL without storing the key in plain text.
  • We added a ready-made ThingSpeak connector template - connect your IoT logger or DIY sensor (Arduino, ESP) and pull its readings automatically.
  • Scheduled reports are now sent to each recipient individually - other people’s addresses are no longer visible - and every recipient can unsubscribe from the report on their own with one click in the email footer.
  • Location privacy on the public dashboard: you can now hide the exact position of stations - on the shared view coordinates are rounded, protecting sensitive sites (habitats, intakes, wells) from having their precise location exposed.
  • Public dashboards now adapt to the viewer’s language - a shared project page displays in Polish, English, German or Spanish, so you can share results with an international audience.
  • Public dashboards - tidier setup and richer charts: the public-view settings now live in a dedicated “Public dashboard” tab, and the correlation chart lets you choose which indicators to compare (X and Y axes) and switch on a bubble mode - a third indicator as point size. The latest-readings table lets you choose how many rows to show.
  • On a dashboard with several charts, the same station now always keeps the same colour and order - so it is easier to compare indicators across charts.
  • Charts and exports clearly show which station you’re looking at: the station’s full name now appears next to its short code - in the legend, in the hover tooltip, on chart images and in the PDF report. No more guessing what a cryptic station code means.
  • Telemetry charts read better: on dashboards and in the project view we added hourly and 10-minute aggregation matched to your sensor data frequency - readings from different stations form continuous lines instead of scattered dots.

Analysis & quality control

  • Analysis charts read more clearly: the “Sample profile” now shows where a result sits within the range of your data even when no guideline is set for an indicator, and the process control chart always shows both control limits (upper and lower).

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • The report shows data quality more clearly: the “Data quality” section now flags measurements that exceed an indicator’s valid range - consistent with what you see in the export.

Other improvements

  • Small refinements: sample-profile values without excess decimals, consistent alignment of status tags on the project list, and clearer confirmation dialogs (icon and title). The shortcut to public-dashboard setup (from the project settings) opens the right tab again. We also improved the stability of the “Quick entry” screen in the field offline, and code examples in the Help are now readable in dark mode. We also fixed the look of checkboxes in light mode on phones with a dark system theme.

Field work & data entry

  • Field work without signal is now more dependable: before heading out you can “Pack a project for the field” (the ⋯ menu in a project) - the app immediately downloads everything needed for offline work. When you are back in coverage, your data syncs even with the app closed (you will get a notification), and a successful background sync is confirmed with a short notification.
  • We improved offline sync reliability: field entries now sync dependably even on phones that misreport their network state, edits made by other team members reach your device within minutes, and photos that could not be uploaded (e.g. due to a storage limit) are clearly marked in the gallery.
  • Faster single-value entry: “Quick entry” now sits right next to “New session”, and in projects with one station and one indicator it fills those in for you - you just type the value. Setting up an empty project guides you step by step: station first, then indicator.
  • “Quick entry” now works fully offline: add a single measurement in the field with no signal - it saves locally and syncs automatically once you’re back online.
  • Custom indicators can now be edited and deleted: fix a typo in the name, adjust the unit, range or formula, and permanently remove an unused indicator. Changes show up immediately across all your projects, and your data stays safe - an indicator with recorded measurements cannot be deleted by accident.
  • Project activation now guides you: the first-steps checklist includes an “Activate the project” step, and the activation button unlocks only once the project has a station and an indicator - instead of a cryptic error you get a clear hint about what is missing. The same applies to starting a connector on a draft project: the app offers to activate the project and guides you through.

App & platform

  • You decide how the app looks: in Settings choose the Light (default), Dark or Auto (follows your system) theme. Dark mode no longer switches on by itself from your phone settings - some users reported it was hard to read.
  • You can now correct your name in Settings (e.g. a typo) - regardless of how you sign in. On Android, the “back” button on the home screen now minimises the app instead of closing it, so you return to work faster.
  • We improved navigation across the app: every screen now opens from the top (no more scroll position “inherited” from the previous view), the project tab bar stays visible while scrolling, and the back button returns exactly where you came from - including the right tab. Wizards (new project, connector) and station forms step back instead of closing and losing your input, and a fresh, empty project immediately points you to where to add stations and indicators.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Easier station setup for integrations with long source lists (e.g. IMGW weather stations): instead of scrolling through hundreds of entries or memorising a number, search a source station by number or name and match it to your own - with the option to create the project station on the spot.
  • We fixed false connector errors: when the data source had not yet published a new reading, the connector reported an error and could eventually switch itself off - it now correctly recognises that there is simply no new data yet.

App & platform

  • LimnoLog speaks Spanish: we added a full Spanish language version - the interface, the indicator and methodology dictionary, help, Excel/CSV exports, PDF reports, and e-mail and push notifications. Terminology follows the Spanish scientific vocabulary of water monitoring (DQO, DBO₅, oxígeno disuelto). Switch the language in account settings, and set the export language per project.
  • Clearer project roles: if you only have view access (e.g. as an observer), the app now shows this upfront and stops offering actions you can’t perform anyway - no more confusing errors when trying to save. Sending feedback is easier to reach: from the menu in the project screen and directly from the “Reports” screen.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • A new data source in integrations: NOAA tide stations (water level and temperature, including near coral reefs) can now be connected as a telemetry connector straight from the wizard - pick the ready-made template, test it on a sample station and assign your own sites.
  • We launched a public, live demo dashboard, “Reef & Coast Watch”: water level and temperature from six coral-reef monitoring stations (Hawaii, the Florida Keys, the Caribbean, Guam), updated automatically every hour. See for yourself what a public LimnoLog dashboard looks like with live data: https://app.limnolog.com/p/reef-coast-watch
  • Station maps now show all sites at once - even when they’re far apart (no more centring on the empty midpoint between them). The public dashboard link opens in the browser and can be copied with one tap, so it’s easier to check how the page looks and share it.

Other improvements

  • More reliable photo attachments in reports on older phones; the photo count on the session list now updates immediately after adding a photo; the project list no longer falsely shows “Offline” on large accounts; plus small interface fixes (the map no longer covers the project actions menu). Measurement and session counts - on the project list and in the admin panel - are accurate again. Push notifications now show a readable report status, and the Spanish language version received terminology and formatting fixes.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Exports and reports now work reliably for very large projects (tens of thousands of measurements) - Excel, CSV and PDF files and the report generate all the way through, without breaking off. Restoring a project from a backup is resilient to repeated sensor readings, and reports show more clearly which indicators have no guideline set. Trend charts in the report now mark year boundaries, making multi-year series easier to read. The full measurements table in PDF also has correct page numbering.

App & platform

  • Smarter language selection: after signing in the app shows the language set in your account - the same preference follows you on every device. Users outside Poland, the UK and Germany now see the interface in English instead of Polish.

Analysis & quality control

  • Faster chart loading for large projects: on subsequent visits the app fetches only new measurements instead of re-downloading the whole history. If you previously loaded the full dataset for analysis, a full refresh is one click away via “Refresh full data” - and the view now shows how many measurements you have on the device and when they were last refreshed.
  • Downloading the full history is now interruption-proof: if fetching a large dataset gets cut off (lost signal, app closed), it resumes from where it stopped next time - instead of starting over.
  • Fixed a misleading “Offline” message that could appear while a large project’s data was downloading despite a working connection - during a download you now see its progress, and the full-refresh button clearly shows that loading is already in progress.
  • Charts read better: month names on the time axis now match the app language, and on multi-year data the axis clearly marks the year - at the start and at every year change - so you instantly know which year the data is from. A single-day view shows the full date at the start of the axis (unambiguous in exports too), and with very dense sensor data we suggest switching to a daily or weekly view.
  • Opening charts and analysis for a large project now shows download progress and a “loading measurements - the chart will appear shortly” message instead of a blank screen. The progress no longer disappears when you switch project tabs, and the chart appears on its own as soon as the data is in.

Other improvements

  • We expanded the help center: illustrated guides for data verification, control charts, the sample profile, import and connectors - complete in every language. We also improved clarity: the control chart now defaults to a single station, indicator names in the quality views follow your interface language, and the connector wizard shows the correct labels.
  • Translation fixes (German, Spanish) and small visual improvements - including better use of wide screens on the project list and a tidier notifications panel.

App & platform

  • The weekly email backup is now reliable for very large projects too - when the file is too big to attach, you get a link to download the backup straight from the app instead.
  • We now warn you by email when someone repeatedly makes failed attempts to send data to your connector's webhook address - easier to spot a misuse attempt.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Connectors can now also pick out the latest reading when a source returns its whole measurement history in a single field.
v0.19 - v0.124 June 2026

Field work & data entry

  • Photo documentation: add photos to sessions and stations (camera or gallery, with GPS), tag them by type (station, sample, anomaly, equipment fault), view them on a map and export their location to GIS. The session list shows a counter, thumbnails and a highlight for data-quality events. It works offline too - photos taken with no signal upload once you are back online.
  • Field outings: a calendar of all your fieldwork. From an outing you can print sample QR labels and start measurement entry right away, and scanning a code opens the right session (the next bottles from the same outing land where they should). For fixed stations you can print permanent station QR codes. Scanning works offline too.
  • Reliable offline work: enter and correct measurements, create new sessions and export CSV/Excel files with no internet - data syncs automatically once you are back in range. After a longer offline break you stay signed in and see your projects instead of the login screen.
  • Set a station’s location straight from the map - point to it (click or drag the pin), search by address, or use your location, and the coordinates fill in automatically. The project map has “My location” and “Navigate to station”, so in the field you know at once where you are and how to get there.
  • In the mobile app (Android, from the store) you get a native camera QR scanner, device location, and file printing and downloads.

Analysis & quality control

  • Compare a sensor with the lab straight from raw telemetry: the app averages sensor readings in a window around each sample (mean, or a median that shrugs off spikes), so you can line up the methods without crunching it in a spreadsheet. For surrogate indicators (e.g. turbidity as a proxy for suspended solids) there is a new calibration mode with prediction error and a confidence band.
  • Quality control (QA/QC) for sensors: an equipment registry with a service log (cleanings, calibrations, replacements), control samples with standards and a control chart, automatic drift-risk flagging, retrospective drift compensation between services, and predictive maintenance. The raw value is always preserved.
  • Data quality center (the “Verification” tab): review anomalies grouped by type (out of reference range, frozen sensor, spikes) and exclude or restore a whole group in one click - with a confirmation and a count covering the entire project. In search you exclude the specific measurements you select. Excluded data drops out of statistics, charts and the report, but stays in the database and you can always restore it.
  • Data validation: automatic flagging and exclusion of faulty readings (out of range, “frozen” sensor, spikes) - charts, statistics and the report use only valid data. Method comparison sonde↔laboratory with Deming regression and a Bland-Altman plot tells you whether an online sensor can be trusted.
  • Expanded analysis: correlations with a trend line and fit (R²), methods robust to messy data (Spearman, Kendall), partial correlation, lag analysis and a map of all indicator pairs; Shewhart control charts highlighting outliers; a sample profile against guidelines; depth and CTD profiles (comparing vertical profiles of several sites).
  • We aligned indicator labels with international standards - codes based on Polish names (BZT5, ChZT, OWO, turbidity, total nitrogen and phosphorus, suspended solids, hardness, discharge…) are now widely recognised abbreviations (BOD5, COD, TOC, Turb, TN, TP, TSS, TH, Q…). Full names in your language stay the same, and files using the old labels still import.
  • More confident entry and clearer charts: a warning about unusual values during entry, bulk correction of many measurements at once (with full history), consistent number formatting (your language’s decimal separator), clearly distinct station colours on time-series charts, and a fixed daily value when a day mixes sensor readings with a manual entry.
  • On a computer you can now load the full history of even very large projects into analysis - charts, correlations and control charts cover the whole dataset, not just the most recent part.

Field work & data entry

  • When importing data from a sensor or data logger the app suggests automatic grouping into daily sessions - pick the last reading of the day or the arithmetic mean. The option appears when the file has more than 100 timestamps.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • A live PDF report builder: pick the date range, indicators, sections (summary, data quality, charts, statistics) and field photos, and the A4 preview updates instantly - download the finished report in one click. The report covers all of a project’s measurements (even beyond a thousand) and is fully available in German.
  • Public dashboards: share a project under your own read-only link without login, with tiles (current values, summary, station map, table, correlation chart, control chart, CTD profile), several charts side by side, a live preview, a station-status map, plus embedding and data access via API.
  • Much simpler connection of automatic data sources: pick a ready source (e.g. IMGW) as a single-click card and click fields straight in the response preview (CSV/XML/SOAP, many stations at once, source timezone). We added meteorological indicators, and sensor data is clearly separated from manual entries.
  • Reports sent automatically by email - pick the indicators and recipients, and a project summary reaches them weekly or monthly, with no login. We refreshed all emails and now send them in German too.
  • Exports with no size limit - CSV, Excel and PDF files include all measurements regardless of row count. We added a full, restorable project copy in one file (with stations, indicators, sessions, measurements and equipment) recreated in one click, plus better chart PNG exports (legend, clear axes, every point).

App & platform

  • We added a German language version (app and limnolog.com), refreshed the look (a consistent teal/petrol scheme in light and dark mode) and improved accessibility (keyboard navigation, screen readers, high contrast and larger text).
  • Contextual help - a “?” button on many screens opens a guide for exactly that place (from the bottom on phones, the right on desktop), works offline and comes in Polish, English and German, with search and a PDF handbook download.
  • On-device push notifications for guideline exceedances and report status changes (with a “push instead of email” option), plus reminders for scheduled sessions the day before sampling.
  • Faster, more stable start-up and sign-in - we pre-load mainly your active projects in the background, fixed Google sign-in on phones and working in several tabs at once, and field-collected data is better protected from loss.
  • Faster opening of large projects - after the first download the app fetches only new measurements instead of reloading the entire history.
  • Smoother project management: create from ready templates in three steps (lake, wastewater plant, river, urban monitoring), activate a draft in one click, delete sessions and whole projects (once archived, with confirmation and a backup), and edit session details after saving.

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Restoring a project from a backup now works reliably regardless of project size - importing a large archive no longer times out, and restore progress is shown on a bar. If any measurements need attention, you get a clear notice.

Other improvements

  • Other fixes: fixed a false offline mode (on some devices the app showed “offline” and skipped downloading data for fieldwork even with a working connection), local time instead of UTC in the PDF export table, better use of screen space on small phones, clearer session-list loading, a clear message while a large project’s report is being prepared, file printing and downloads in the Android app, content no longer hiding under the bottom bar, and many small interface and stability improvements.
v0.1 - v0.18 May 2026 (launch)

App & platform

  • First LimnoLog release - projects, sessions, stations, indicators and measurements in one place, an installable app (PWA) with a weekly email backup, team roles and inviting collaborators. Shortly after came a full English version, a desktop layout with a side navigation panel, and export of your own data (GDPR).

Field work & data entry

  • Offline work from the start - enter measurements without internet and data syncs once back online. You can also import from CSV, ODS and XLS files, and quick entry plus measurement search speed up working with lots of data.

Analysis & quality control

  • Analysis foundations: indicators calculated from formulas (including from other calculated ones), a dictionary expanded by dozens of indicators with version history, guidelines (min/max thresholds) as reference lines on charts, season comparison and a moving average, and soon after an advanced analysis mode (correlations with R², Shewhart charts, sample profile).

Reports, dashboards & integrations

  • Sharing and integrations from launch: export to Excel (multiple sheets), CSV and PDF, public project dashboards (read-only, with embedding and API access), automatic pull of measurements from devices and services (API connectors), and email notifications, exceedance alerts and daily change summaries.
